3-Minute Theory: “Men Feel Too"

The episode that opened our eyes to the real pandemic. Men’s Mental Health.

Why a real pandemic? Because preparing for this episode took the longest, with limited available information about men’s mental health.

We cracked open the stigma around men’s mental health, the silence, the shame, and the strength it takes to speak.

Here’s what we pulled from it - in 3 minutes, 3 angles, 1 insight.

MIND – Think

“A capable man is not the one who ignores pain. He’s the one who can face it”.

So many men suffer in silence, not because they’re weak, but because they were taught that vulnerability is. The strongest men we know aren't the ones who say nothing, they're the ones who choose to open up anyway.

BODY – Do

The “Four Pillar Check-In”

Sit down with pen and paper and divide your paper into 4 equal sections.

In each of them, write down:

  • How’s my health?

  • Am I okay financially?

  • How are my relationships?

  • How do I feel about my work?

If one of these pillars is cracked, don’t ignore it, sit with it. Awareness is the first move, and small actions rebuild strength.

HEART – Feel

Ask Yourself (or your mate):

“How are you really doing?”

Not the surface-level “busy, fine, same-old” answer.

The real one (you know it).

And when you ask, listen. That alone might be the lifeline someone didn’t know they needed.

A Piece of Us

Rupert: "This week I reconnected with something raw and necessary - being fully present in nature. As a man, I’ve come to realise there’s something powerful about being out in the wild with the boys, hiking, moving, eating simply, almost like a modern-day hunter-gatherer. It puts everything into perspective. Suddenly, life doesn’t feel so overwhelming. The noise quiets down. You start to remember what actually matters.

The intention for this trip was to live simply, be present, and through a bit of plant medicine, it shifts perspective. What hit me most was how temporary our worries really are. They feel big in the moment, but they pass. And it reminded me how essential it is to have people around you who help keep you grounded.

Hiking forces presence. Nature soothes, grounds, and completes us in ways we forget living in the city. It’s like something ancient in the body wakes up, something that’s been waiting to be let out.

I usually love my comforts: my bed, my home, my routines. But being under the stars on the weekend reminded me how easy I’ve got it, and how, even if everything was stripped away, I’d still be okay. Probably better than okay.

If you’re feeling the pressure or just disconnected, I can’t recommend it enough: grab a tent, step out of your bubble, and let nature do its thing. Embrace life, even the messy parts.

"
Konrad: “Everything you’ve ever wanted is always within reach. It’s within you. Just listen and feel.

Last weekend, I didn’t need expensive clothing, big parties, or to see myself as high status. All I needed was to get out into nature with some of my mates, sit around the fire, and at 3am, look up at the stars.

I realised that my biggest goals and aspirations - everything I’ve ever wanted - are always within me, ready to be accessed.

I’m so grateful for this trip.”
