3-Minute Theory: Seeing Between the Frames
Some conversations don’t give answers.
They rearrange the way you ask questions.
This one sat at the edge of science, psychedelics, intuition, and humility, not trying to convince, but trying to understand.
What reality is made of.
How experience is shaped.
And why the most important work isn’t proving something, it’s staying balanced enough not to lose yourself while exploring it.
MIND – Think
“It doesn’t add to reality. It replaces it.”
One of the most striking ideas in this episode was the difference between altering perception and entering a different one.
Most experiences, dreams, imagination, even other psychedelics still borrow from this world.
They bend it. Colour it. Distort it.
But here, the point was sharper: with enough intensity, what you’re experiencing doesn’t feel like an overlay, it feels like a clean wipe.
A reality that is more structured, more coherent, and strangely more stable than the one you left behind.
That raises an uncomfortable question:
If coherence, rules, repeatability, and shared structures exist there… on what basis do we call this the default?
The episode didn’t claim certainty, but it insisted on intellectual honesty.
If something behaves like a real space, you don’t get to dismiss it just because it’s inconvenient.
BODY – Do
“Don’t widen the frame so much that it turns into nonsense.”
This conversation wasn’t just philosophical, it was deeply practical.
The method was clear:
Explore boldly, but discard relentlessly.
Follow intuitions, but only long enough to test whether they lead somewhere real.
If they don’t? Let them go. No attachment. No mythology-building.
That’s the discipline most people skip.
Try this:
When an idea excites you, ask:
Can this be tested?
Can it be repeated?
Can I describe what would falsify it?
If not, you’re no longer exploring, you’re fantasising.
Curiosity needs boundaries.
Without them, insight collapses into noise.
HEART – Feel
“The moment you stop pushing or pulling, everything changes.”
Underneath all the talk of simulations, code, lasers, and molecules, there was a quieter message running through the entire episode: equanimity.
Not suppressing emotion.
Not chasing transcendence.
Just learning how to stay present without being dragged around by every sensation, fear, or story.
The ability to observe, rather than react, came up again and again.
Whether it was meditation, Vipassana, or simply sitting with discomfort long enough for it to dissolve.
The real danger isn’t exploring strange ideas.
It’s losing balance while doing it.
Awareness, neutrality, and self-trust were treated not as spiritual concepts, but as protective technologies.
A Piece of Us
Rupert: “I’m in control, and I’ve realised that closing a business often comes down to its processes, not its worth. It’s emotional, and there is real grief involved, but that doesn’t mean the business wasn’t successful, and it doesn’t mean I’m a failure or that there’s anything to be ashamed of.
Businesses are like people. They can get sick, they go through cycles, and eventually everything reaches an end. As the caretaker of this business, I did everything I could. Now what matters is making a clean break, moving forward, and allowing space for transition.
I genuinely feel excited about what’s coming next. It feels fresh, necessary, and aligned. This won’t be the last business I run, but I’m deeply thankful that I had the opportunity to build something, to sustain it for as long as I did, and to play a meaningful role in its life.”
Konrad: “Last week at my therapy course, I had an interesting conversation. We were talking about God (I know it’s strange to do this in therapy, but wherever it takes me, I talk). Anyway, I was whining about how I used to feel the presence of God, but suddenly it became so dim.
I jokingly said, “I used to pray for money and haven’t received any,” but the lady I was talking to kept digging deeper. She asked, “How is your life now?” I said, “It’s amazing.” I have a lovely fiancée, I have a great job, my exercise is on point, I’m healthy. I just started naming all these different things when suddenly I clocked it.
I’ve literally got all the things that I was praying for. All of them.
Most importantly, I have clarity about where I’m heading, which is quite new for me.
Before, I used to know where I was heading but didn’t feel certain about it. Now it’s different.
The moral of the story? I don’t know. I think there’s something higher above us that looks down on us and gives us a kick in the right direction.
